OK, so just a little note on this installment of the Lyric game…”The Dock of the Bay” was an Ottis Redding song, not Percy Sledge (Although Percy did cover it at some point – Ottis gets the credit as it was based on his life, he co-wrote it and first recorded it.)

You are correct. Percy Sledge sang “When a Man Loves a Woman” and appeared on the same oldies LP as “Dock of the Bay” that I owned many, many, many years ago. I’m going to hate having you listen!

No worries…most of the time I don’t know what you’re talking about musically, since 90% of it is unrelatable to non-country music fans.

That was my fear. I hope most people play along though and pick their own lyrics.
